Following dental trauma, initial thermal and electric pulp tests may yield false-negative results due to transient nerve damage and inflammation. Therefore, pulp vitality should be reassessed after 30 days to allow recovery of pulpal nerve fibers and to accurately determine the true vitality status. Immediate decisions based on a single early test may lead to unnecessary treatment or missed necrosis. Repeated testing ensures appropriate diagnosis and timely intervention if pulp necrosis develops. This protocol optimizes patient outcomes by avoiding overtreatment and enabling conservative management when possible.
