Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is a leading cause of maternal morbidity globally due to its potential for rapid blood loss after delivery. It can result from uterine atony, trauma, retained placental tissue, or coagulopathy. Immediate recognition and management are critical to prevent severe complications such as hypovolemic shock and organ failure. Key surgical interventions include uterine massage, uterotonic drugs administration, and when necessary, surgical procedures like uterine artery ligation or hysterectomy. Early and effective management drastically reduces morbidity and mortality rates associated with PPH.
