Edward H. Angle is credited with pioneering several orthodontic appliances, including the Ribbon arch, Edgewise, and Pin and tube appliances. However, the Straight wire appliance was introduced later by Dr. Lawrence F. Andrews. This appliance revolutionized orthodontics by incorporating pre-adjusted brackets that eliminate the need for extensive wire bending. Therefore, the Straight wire appliance was NOT introduced by Edward H. Angle, distinguishing it clearly from his original innovations.
