Passage : Read the Passage and answer questions. How important is talent to succeed in life? And how good a predictor is it of future success? These are the questions psychologists have been trying to answer for decades. They have reached far, and most of their findings invariably show that talent, as we know it, is nothing but a myth. It fails to predict future successes and undeniably, isnt the only preręquisite of the' same. Scientifically, it is almost impossible to measure how talented a person is. Even the term "talent' does not mean what most of us think it means. It is a term which is over-defined, over-used and over-emphasised for no good reason. When we talk about big achievers such as Olympic 'medalists and other top athletes, top politicians, top businessmen, and even exam toppers, we inadvertently put talent as the main contríbuting factor of their achievements. We do not see their pains, sleepless nights and the many hurdles they underwent to reach the pick. Unfortunately, we have created a society and a system which only values talent. It fails to inspire effort. By putting false importance on talent, we are missing out on many great minds and things.
