ই-মেইলে ব্যবহৃত POP ও SMTP এগুলো কি?

প্রটোকল (Protocol) হচ্ছে কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্কের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদান। এটি ছাড়া একটি সফল কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্ক গড়ে তোলা যায় না। ভিন্ন ভিন্ন কম্পিউটারকে এক সাথে যুক্ত করে দিতে হলে এক কম্পিউটারের সাথে অন্য কম্পিউটারের যোগাযোগ করার জন্য কিছু নির্দিষ্ট নিয়ম মেনে তথ্য আদান-প্রদান করতে হয়। যারা নেটওয়ার্ক তৈরি করেন তারা আগে থেকেই ঠিক করে নেন, ঠিক কোন ভাষায়, কোন নিয়ম মেনে এক কম্পিউটার অন্য কম্পিউটারের সাথে যোগাযোগ করবে। এই নিয়মগুলোই হচ্ছে প্রটোকল।

TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) - The foundation of the internet, responsible for communication between devices on a network.
HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) - Used for transmitting web pages and other data on the World Wide Web.
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) - Enables the transfer of files between a client and a server over a network.
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) - Handles the sending and routing of email messages across networks.
POP (Post Office Protocol) - Retrieves email from a mail server to a client's computer or device.
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) - Allows email clients to access and manage email messages on a mail server.
DNS (Domain Name System) - Translates domain names into IP addresses used by computers to locate and communicate with each other.
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) - Automatically assigns IP addresses and network configuration parameters to devices on a network.
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) - Facilitates the management and monitoring of network devices and their performance.
SSH (Secure Shell) - Provides secure remote access to a computer or server over an encrypted connection.
