জোনাথন সুইফট ছিলেন বিখ্যাত অ্যাংলো-আইরিশ প্রাবন্ধিক, ব্যাঙ্গাত্মক-কবিতা লেখক ও পাদ্রী। তিনি ডাবলিনের সেন্ট প্যাট্রিক ক্যাথেড্রালের ডীন নিযুক্ত হয়েছিলেন। ১৭২৬ সালে গালিভার'স ট্রাভেলস নামের একটি ইংরেজি উপন্যাস রচনা করে তিনি স্মরণীয় হয়ে রয়েছেন। এটিকে ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের একটি ধ্রুপদি গ্রন্থ মনে করা হয়।
