Let, larger number = x
and small number = y
So, xy=10 and, x+y=7--------(i)
We know, (x-y)2=(x+y)2 - 4xy
=(7)2 - 4×10
=49 - 40
=9
so, x-y=3--------(ii)
Now, (i)+(ii)
2x=10
=> x=10/2
=> x=5
So, larger number = 5 (Ans.)
