If two non-zero positive integers p and q are such that p=4q and p<8, then q=?

A    1

B    2

C    3

D    4

Solution

Correct Answer: Option A

As p and q are positive integer. P cannot be a fraction number. Then again, as for,

p=4q,

p has to be completely divisible by 4. Then again for the condition, p<8

p has to be less than 8. Thus, the only number p can be, to be completely divisible by 4 is 4. Thus,

p=4q

or, 4=4q

or, q = 1
