দেওয়া আছে, x এবং y এর গড় 40
(x + y)/2= 40
⇒ x + y = 80 ..........(1)
আবার, y এবং z এর গড় 35
(y + z)/2 = 35
⇒ y + z = 70 ..........(2)
(1) নং সমীকরণ হতে (2) নং সমীকরণ বিয়োগ করে পাই,
(x+y) - (y+z) = 80 - 70
⇒ x + y - y - z = 10
x - z = 10
