Two numbers A and B are such that the sum of 5% of A and 4% of B   is two-third  of  the sum of 6% of A and 8% of B. What is the ratio of A and B?

A    1:1

B    1:2

C    2:5

D    4:3

Solution

Correct Answer: Option D

5% of A + 4% of B=23(6% of A+8% of B).

=>(5/100)×A+(4/100)×B = 2/3((6/100)×A+(8/100)×B).

=>(1/20)×A+(1/25)×B=(1/25)×A+(4/75)×B.

=>(12−125)×A=(475−125)×B.

=>(1/100)×A=(1/75)×B.

=>A/B=100/75=4/3.

Hence, the required ratio = 4:3
