The above diagram means a term is divided by either 3 or 4 to get the next term.
For example, 1548 when divided by 3 we get, 516.
The divisor is oscillating between 3 & 4 in a manner like first 3 then 4 then again 3 then 4 and so on. That means to get the unknown term we have to divide 43 by 4. Because the previous operation was division by 3.
