Total cost of rice costing Rs. 280/kg
= 280 × 7 = Rs. 1960
Total cost of rice costing Rs. 240/kg
= 240 × 9 = Rs. 2160
∴ Required average price of mixed rice
= Rs. (1960+2160)/(7+9) per kg
= Rs. 4120/16 per kg
= Rs. 257.5 per kg
