Aditya alone can finish the work in 12 days and Raman can alone finish the work in 18 days. If they work together and they are daily paid Rs. 550. What is the amount that Aditya will receive out of it?

Aditya and Raman can finish the work in 12 and 18 days respectively.
∴ Amount of work done by Aditya in one day = 1/12
Amount of work done by Raman in one day = 1/18
Total amount of work done by Aditya and raman together in one day \(= \frac{1}{{12}}\; + \frac{1}{{18}}\; = \frac{5}{{36}}\)
∴ Fraction of work done by Aditya \(= \frac{{\frac{1}{{12}}}}{{\frac{5}{{36}}}}\; = \frac{3}{5}\)
The payment received will also be in the ratio of amount of work done
∴ Payment received by Aditya = 3/5 of 550
\(= \frac{3}{5} \times 550 = Rs.\;330\)
