The base of a parallelogram is twice its height. If the area of the parallelogram is 288 cm2, find its height
Correct Answer: Option B
We know that:
Area of a parallelogram = base × height
Let the height of the parallelogram be x cm, then, base = 2x cm
∴ According to the question –
2x × x = 288 cm2
⇒ 2x2 = 288 cm2
⇒x2= 144 cm2
⇒ x = 12 cm
Hence height of the parallelogram would be 12 cm.
