Correct Answer: Option B
Given that, surface area of one cube, i.e. 6a2 (where a is side of the cube) = 1 sq. dm.,
⇒ a2 =6/6 = 1
Then, side of the cube, a = √1 = 1 dm.
Volume of the cube = a3
⇒ Volume = 1 cub. dm.
Since 1 metre = 10 decimetre, so in 1 metre cube, there are 1000 decimetre cubes
Our aim is to calculate number of cubes in 1000 cub. dm. each of 1 cub. dm. volume.
Thus, number of cubes = total volume of the big cube/volume of small cubes
⇒ Number of cubes = 1000/1 = 1000 cubes.
