Correct Answer: Option C
The pattern of given series is:
→ 3,
→ 4 = (3 + 1) × 1
→ 10 = (4 + 1) × 2
→ 34 ≠ (10 + 1) × 3 = 33
→ 136 = (33 + 1) × 4
→ 685 = (136 + 1) × 5
→ 4116 = (685 + 1) × 6
∴ 34 is the wrong number in the series and the correct number will be 33
Based on the above pattern we can create the following series
→ 34,
→ 35 = (34 + 1) × 1
→ 72 = (35 + 1) × 2
Hence, third number in the new series is 72
