Before anybody could notice, Hridoy took 1/3 of the chocolates from a box. Later, his three sisters arrived and the remaining chocolates were distributed equally among the four of them. Hridoy received a total of 48 chocolates. How many did each of her sisters receive ?
Correct Answer: Option A
Solution:
Let, the number of chocolate = x
At first Hridoy got 1/3 of x = x/3 so, chocolate left = x - x/3 = 2x/3
3 sisters and again Hridoy got each = 2x/3 \( \div \) 4 = x/6
Hridoy got in total = x/3 + x/6 = 3x/6 = x/2
ATQ, x/2 = 48 or x = 96, So, each sister got 96/6 = 16
