Three Pipes can independently fill a water tank in 10, 12 and 15 hours. How many hours will it take for all three Pipes opened together to fill half of the tank ?
Correct Answer: Option D
Solution:
3 Pipes in 1hr fill = \(\frac{1}{{10}} + \frac{1}{{12}} + \frac{1}{{15}}\) = \(\frac{{6 + 5 + 4}}{{60}}\) = \(\frac{{15}}{{60}}\) = \(\frac{1}{4}\)part.
So, Time required to fill the full tank is = 4 hours
Then half of the tank can be filled in 4 \( \div \) 2 = 2 hours
