Length of a train is 250 m. It crosses a pole in 10 second. Find the speed of a train.
Correct Answer: Option E
∵ the length of pole will be negligible in comparison to that of train.
∴ Speed of train = \(\frac{{{\rm{lengthoftrain}}}}{{{\rm{timetaken}}}}\) \(\left\{ {{\rm{\because Speed}} = \frac{{{\rm{Distance}}}}{{{\rm{Time}}}}} \right\}\)
=250/10 = 25 m/s
\(= 25 \times \frac{{18}}{5}{\rm{km}}/{\rm{hour}}\)
∴ Speed of the train = 90 km/hour.
