The pattern of given series is:
→ 214,
→ 18 = 214 – (14)2,
→ 162 = 18 + (12)2,
→ 62 = 162 – (10)2,
→ 143 ≠ 62 + (8)2 = 126,
→ 90 = 126 – (6)2,
→ 106 = 90 + (4)2,
∴ 143 is the wrong number in the series and the correct number will be 126
Based on the above pattern we can create the following series
→ 143,
→ -53 = 143 – (14)2,
→ 91 = (-53) + (12)2,
Hence, third number in the new series is 91
