The angles of a triangle are in the ratio of 2 : 3: 4. Greatest angle of the triangle is:

A 100°

B 80°

C 90°

D 70°

E None of these

Solution

Correct Answer: Option B

Let the angle of the triangle be 2x, 3x and 4x.

Then, 2x + 3x + 4x = 180

⇒ 9x = 180

⇒ x = 180/9

⇒ x = 20

Here, the greatest angle is 4x = 4 × 20 = 80°
