Two consecutive months in a year can have same number of days if and only if they are July and August.
⇒ Either Mark is born in June and Matt in July, or vice versa. Two positive cases are possible.
Also, two consecutive months can be chosen in 11 ways. The pairs will be (January, February), (February, March)……, and so on. With choosing a month for Mark and Matt, two different cases are possible in each of the ways. Hence, there will be 22 total cases.
∴ Probability that the numbers of months in which they are born have same number of days = 2/22 = 1/11
